Academics

Our main purpose is to ensure that all of our students learn at high levels. We do this by our work toward providing a guaranteed (common) and viable curriculum.

A common curriculum guarantees that students’ learning is based on the same essential standards, the same high-quality, and the same assessments, no matter which school or teacher they are assigned.

In order to make our curriculum viable, the standards used in the pacing of our units are doable for teachers to teach and for students to learn within the time allotted.

The Instructional Services Center houses the Teaching and Learning department which directs and oversees all functions related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, staff development, Title programs, and summer school. Gifted & Talented, Fine Arts, and 4K staff also work out of this office.

Our instructional services and technology specialists divide their time assisting with professional development across the district.
